  • 500g flour
  • 5 egg (s)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 250 ml water
  • 300 g cheese, Emmentaler
  • 250 ml cream
  • 200 g ham
  • 1 pinch (s) pepper
  • salt

Creamy Cheese Spaetzle with Ham

Instructions

  1. Sieve the flour into a bowl, crack the eggs and add them. Sprinkle salt on the flour and pour in the water. Beat the dough until it bubbles. If necessary, add a little more water.
  2. Using a spaetzle slicer, slice portions into boiling salted water. When the spaetzle rise, skim off with a skimmer and keep warm in a sufficiently large saucepan! Do not let the spaetzle cool down!
  3. Season the cream with salt and pepper and let it get hot in a small saucepan. Cut the ham into cubes and add to the cream.
  4. Sprinkle grated cheese on the spaetzle and immediately pour in the cream. Mix well quickly with a wooden spoon.
  5. If necessary, add a little more seasoning!
  6. Serve with roasted onion rings.
