Clean the lettuce and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Wash, pat dry and transfer to a bowl.
Leave the bacon cubes in their own fat until golden brown. Make the marinade for the salad from the olive oil, the juice of a lemon, the finely diced chilli pepper and the spices. Mix everything with the salad and let it steep.
If possible, the salad should not be served too cold.
Tip: It is best to sprinkle the bacon hot over the salad just before serving.
