Knead all ingredients together quickly and form a long loaf.
Line a loaf pan with baking paper (leave generous edges) and add the dough.
Bake for about 30 minutes on the middle rack (try with wooden sticks to see if it`s done), after about 15 minutes beat the baking paper over the bread so that it doesn`t get too dark and the crust too hard.
Let cool on a wire rack.
Depending on your taste, the lemon peel can be left out or replaced with vanilla sugar. In that case, use less sugar, otherwise it will be too sweet.
