Mix 1 egg yolk with 1 tablespoon sugar until creamy (whip). Bring the milk to the boil with a little water (or black tea), lemon juice, orange peel and gingerbread spice and then pour over the egg yolk - whisk everything together and you`re done.
Unfortunately I didn`t have a cinnamon stick. Put it on top, it would certainly have looked even nicer.
You can also use Christmas seasoning instead of gingerbread spice. That’s a bit harder for the adults. Or make the whole thing a little creamier with cream. I had 1.5% milk (tastes good too and saves calories).
