Cut the ham into small cubes and mix with the cheese cubes. Pour something into the egg boiler / glass. Beat an egg on it. Possibly a small stitch of butter on top. Then close.
Place in a saucepan and fill with warm water to just below the brim. Bring to the boil and then let it steep for about 10-15 minutes (depending on the consistency of the egg).
It is served with toast.
Also suitable for filling are: smoked salmon, smoked trout fillet, herbs, gorgonzola, etc. There are no limits to your imagination.
