- Mix the butter, sugar, cinnamon sugar, salt and eggs until frothy (beat almost white!). Stir in the applesauce.
- Mix the flour with the baking powder and add to the applesauce mixture (do not stir too long, otherwise the waffles will be tough!).
- Gradually add the buttermilk until a creamy, smooth batter is formed.
- Heat up a waffle iron and bake everything evenly brown in portions.
- I can`t say the exact baking time, as it varies from waffle iron type to type.
- I get 7 waffles out of the batter!
- Warning: the waffles are fluffy and soft! They won`t get crispy because of the buttermilk portion!
