Mix the flour, crumbled yeast, sugar and the warm buttermilk into a pre-dough and let it rise. Then add the remaining ingredients and knead. Let rise again and fill in a greased baking pan, let rise and then bake at 200 degrees for about 60 minutes.
Tip:
I also add chopped almonds to the batter every now and then.
Today I divided the dough and baked half of it in a loaf pan, put chopped almonds on top and sprinkled icing sugar on top before eating. (If you like it sweeter, you can also put icing on it and you have a delicious cake substitute).
I baked the other half as round bread and just let it get crispy without sprinkling anything on it.
Ate it at the team meeting today and everyone loved it. One bread was ideal to eat with ham or cheese, the other bread was simply delicious with butter and / or jam.
The time depends on how long you let the dough rise.
