Instructions

  1. Put the water with sugar, lemon juice and whey in a sealable glass vessel and stir everything until the sugar has dissolved. Wash the strawberries, cut into small pieces and place in the container.
  2. Close the jar tightly and let it stand for 2 days at room temperature. Shake briefly two to three times a day. Try the lemonade after 2 days. If not enough carbon dioxide has formed, close the container again and let the lemonade rest (ferment) for another day.
  3. Then skim off the strawberries, chill the lemonade and use within a few days. If you want, you can decorate the lemonade glasses with fresh strawberries.
  4. Note: the fermentation with whey can produce small amounts of alcohol, below 0.5% by volume.
