Mix flour with salt. Make a well in the middle, crumble in the yeast, add sugar and stir with a little milk. Leave to stand for about 5 minutes. Knead with the other ingredients. Shape the dough into walnut-sized balls and let rise for about half an hour.
Roll out each ball very thinly into an oval shape, brush with melted butter, sprinkle some ham and grated cheese on top and roll up.
Let the bars rise again for about 20 minutes. Whisk the egg yolks with milk or cream, brush the sticks with it and sprinkle with cheese and caraway seeds.
Bake in a preheated oven at 175 degrees for about 15 minutes until golden yellow.
