Steam the chopped onion in oil until translucent. Add the sliced potatoes, bay leaves and allspice grains. Fry everything briefly. Deglaze with a little water so that the bottom of the pan is covered and the potatoes can cook. Put the lid on and cook at a medium temperature for approx. 10 minutes. Remove the lid and cook for another 5 minutes. There should be no water left and the potatoes should be done.
Remove the bay leaves and allspice grains. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
