Instructions

  1. Cut the potatoes into larger cubes, eggs, cucumber, apples, onions, black sausage and hunter sausage into small cubes and place in a bowl.
  2. Peel the bismarck herring and cut into pieces approx. 1 cm in size. Also dice crackers and optionally the blood sausage. Put everything in the bowl and mix well.
  3. Add meat salad and mix again. Possibly add 1-2 tablespoons of cucumber broth for better binding. If necessary, a little mayonnaise can also be added. Pepper and salt the salad to taste.
  4. Let everything soak in a cool place for at least 3 hours.
  5. Mix the salad again immediately before consumption and serve with hot wieners or sausages, as well as white bread or rolls. A hot grog is ideal as a drink.
  6. Although declared as a herring salad, the fish taste is very mild due to the many other ingredients.
