Cut the hamburger buns horizontally and fry them in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden and crisp, about 2-3 minutes.
Season the ground meat with salt and pepper to taste. Form into 2 patties. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through to 71°C (160°F) internal temperature.
Slice the tomato.
To assemble each burger, place one lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, add a tomato slice, place the hot cooked patty with one cheese slice on top, add desired sauces (cheese sauce, tomato sauce, and/or teriyaki sauce), and cover with the top bun.
