Peel the ginger and cut into thin slices, pour the tea into tea tongs, for example.
Put both together with the sugar in the boiling water and remove the tea after about 4 minutes, otherwise the iced tea will be bitter. The ginger should stay in the water for about 10 minutes. Now just let it cool down and then chill.
With this amount of sugar, the tea is slightly less sweet than most ready-made iced teas. I find it much more refreshing this way.
