Instructions

  1. Straighten the apples on the stem and flower with one cut.
  2. Remove the core casing with a cookie cutter.
  3. Use a sharp knife to cut the peel of the apple very thinly into 4 columns. Not a must, easier to share while eating.
  4. Shortly cut the fig on the stalk to reveal the soft interior.
  5. Press chopped walnuts into the inside and fold the fig like a crown cap.
  6. Put this in the apple and put it in the oven with a pinch of butter on an ovenproof surface.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
  8. Custard:
  9. Beat the cornstarch with 6 tablespoons of milk, the vanilla and the egg yolk.
  10. Bring the remaining milk to the boil and add the starch. Bring to the boil briefly while stirring quickly. Sweeten slightly with the sweetener of choice.
  11. Pour the sauce over the apple and sprinkle the rest of the walnuts over the apples.
