Put the eggs in a bowl, add the ham and cheese. Season to taste with pepper, salt, ketchup, Tabasco and cayenne pepper. Mix in the finely chopped herbs.
Heat some butter or margarine in a pan and fry the diced onion. Then pour the egg mixture into the pan and cook, stirring constantly, until it is no longer runny.
Put some freshly ground pepper on a plate, place the egg dish (scrambled eggs) on top, pepper again. Spread the onion rings and basil leaves on top.
