Instructions

  1. Score the chestnuts crosswise and just cover them with cold water in a saucepan. Simmer for 4 minutes from the boiling point. Drain and peel.
  2. Melt the butter, olive oil and pear cabbage in a pan and simmer gently. Add the salt, pepper and the whole or halved chestnuts.
  3. Briefly brown the chestnuts and serve.
  4. Delicious as an accompaniment to meat dishes or as a salad topping.
