Knead the flour, yeast, salt, 1 teaspoon caraway seeds and water in a mixing bowl to form a yeast dough. Let it rise until the volume has doubled (about 1 hour).
In the meantime, peel the onions, cut in half and slice, sauté with a little water until half-soft (there shouldn`t be much left after stewing). Add 1 teaspoon of caraway seeds and the ham cut into cubes with 1 teaspoon of salt and leave to cool.
Whisk eggs and add to the onion ham mixture. Spread the yeast dough on a baking sheet and spread the onion and egg mixture on top.
Bake the whole thing on the middle rack in the preheated oven at 200 degrees top / bottom heat for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
