Peel and wash the potatoes and cook in salted water for approx. 25 minutes.
In the meantime, cut the bacon into 1 cm wide strips and fry them in a pan without fat until light brown. Put aside.
Drain the potatoes and let them steam off well in a hot saucepan. Add butter and milk and roughly mash everything with a potato masher. Season with salt and nutmeg. Serve with the bacon.
