Prepare the dumplings according to the package description and let them cool down.
Crumble the toast and place in a bowl. It is best to leave the toast open for a few days, as it would only go moldy in the package. In another bowl, whisk the eggs lightly and stir in the cream briefly. In a final bowl, prepare the almond flour or simply finely chopped almonds.
Now cut the Maultaschen into approx. 2 cm thick slices and roll them one after the other in the almond flour, the eggs and the breadcrumbs. Here it can be an advantage to lightly moisten the slices with a brush before breading them so that the almond flour adheres better, should this not be the case. Fry the slices in a pan with plenty of butter until golden brown on both sides.
Basically, the recipe is rather unsuitable for diets, but it tastes great and is a completely different way to enjoy Maultaschen.
This fits e.g., a cream sauce and fresh paprika vegetables or green asparagus.
