Meat Rolls with Onions Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients.
  2. Reserve 1 onion for the sauce. Slice the remaining 3 onions into thin rings or half rings. Place in a bowl with 1.5 tbsp vinegar, 1 teaspoon sugar, and a pinch of salt. Massage the onions with your hands for 1-2 minutes until softened.
  3. Slice the pork into 8 equal pieces.
  4. Place each pork piece between plastic wrap and pound with a meat mallet until thin. Season both sides with salt and spices to taste.
  5. Place roughly 1-2 tablespoons of the softened onion mixture on each flattened pork piece. Roll tightly.
  6. Coat each roll in flour on all sides. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Add the rolls and fry for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Do not allow them to braise in liquid. Transfer to a plate.
  8. Dice the reserved onion. In the same skillet, fry the diced onion over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Add the chopped green onion and 1.5 tablespoons flour. Stir and fry for 1 minute.
  9. Add 300g sour cream and salt to taste. Heat for 1 minute. Pour in 300 ml water and bring to a boil.
  10. Return all rolls to the skillet. Cover with a lid and simmer over low heat for 40-50 minutes until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 63°C (145°F).
  11. Serve hot with a side dish, pouring the sour cream sauce over the rolls.

Bon Appetit!
