Cook the tomatoes and chili peppers until tender. When the tomatoes are soft, cut them in half and remove the stalk. Chop the chili peppers a little too.
Meanwhile, peel and chop the onion and garlic.
Then put the tomatoes in a blender along with the onion, garlic and chilli. A little water can be added to make the ingredients easier to mix. Then put the salsa in a pan or saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes and season with salt and pepper.
The salsa tastes great with grilled food and is the basis for the preparation of chilaquiles, a breakfast dish in Mexican cuisine.
