Instructions

  1. Cut the bacon and onions into small pieces. Fry in a pan over medium heat for about 5 minutes, until the onions are translucent and the bacon is cooked through.
  2. Stir in the salsa sauce and sour cream. Simmer gently over medium-low heat for about 2 minutes. Season with garlic powder, pepper, and salt to taste.
  3. Place the pork schnitzel in a baking dish and season with pepper to taste. Pour the sauce over the schnitzel and cover with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake in the middle of the oven at 175°C (350°F) for 50-60 minutes, until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 63°C (145°F).
  5. If desired, remove the aluminum foil for the last 10 minutes and sprinkle cheese over the schnitzel to create a gratin.
  6. Serve with mashed potatoes and lamb's lettuce with paprika dressing, or bacon beans.
