Instructions
- Finely chop half of one banana, the onion, the peanuts, and the garlic clove.
- In a bowl, combine the chopped ingredients with the flour, soy sauce, mustard, and sesame paste.
- Crumble the smoked tofu into small pieces, add to the bowl, and season with salt and pepper.
- Knead the mixture for 2-3 minutes until it becomes a cohesive mass.
- Divide into 4 equal portions and form into burger patties.
- Dust both sides of each patty lightly with flour.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Once hot, carefully place the patties in the pan (they are fragile when first cooked).
- Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Transfer the cooked patties to a plate.
- In a separate pan over medium heat, add a pinch of sugar and heat until caramelized, about 3-4 minutes.
- While the sugar caramelizes, slice the remaining banana into thin slices.
- Once the sugar is caramelized, add the banana slices to the pan.
- Cook the bananas for 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Toast the burger buns in a toaster or 180°C (350°F) oven for 2-3 minutes until lightly golden.
- Spread peanut butter on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
- Layer iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato, and sliced cucumber on top.
- Place a cooked patty on the vegetables.
- Add additional peanut butter if desired.
- Top with the caramelized bananas.
- Place the top bun on each burger and serve immediately.
