Having been on vacation in Croatia, I returned with nostalgia for Croatian cuisine … I scoured the internet for a long time in search of a recipe for this dish. But all is not right and wrong … In the end, I created this masterpiece, following the advice of different chefs. And it turned out great! Try it!

Ingredients
Mussels – 1.5 kg
Shrimps – 500 g
Bulb onions – 1 pc.
Garlic – 5 teeth.
Anchovy, fillet – 2-3 pcs. (optional)
Hot pepper (optional) – to taste
Canned (or fresh) tomatoes in their own juice – 400 g
Finely chop 1 onion and 5 garlic cloves. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat, add onion and garlic, fry for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. Add 2-3 anchovy fillets (optional), stir constantly for 1-2 minutes until dissolved. Add hot pepper to taste if desired.
Add 400g canned or fresh tomatoes in their own juice and salt to taste. (If using fresh tomatoes: blanch them, remove skin and seeds, and chop.) Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add 500g shrimp. Simmer over low heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring every 1-2 minutes.
Add 1.5 kg debearded mussels, 1 handful breadcrumbs, 1 bunch chopped parsley, and 0.75 cup dry white or rosé wine. Stir well.
Cover the pot and cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring every 2-3 minutes.
