Wash the tomatoes and remove the stalk. Cut the tomatoes into large pieces and puree with a blender. Season the mixture to taste with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
If you like it spicy, you can refine everything with a chili paste.
We serve the sauce with ready-made pelmeni. Everyone then puts the sauce over the pelmeni in their plate and stirs in 1 teaspoon of sour cream. This is the combination we prefer to eat pelmeni.
