Instructions

  1. Mix the Nutella with the soft butter. Add the vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt and stir in the egg.
  2. Mix flour with baking powder and cinnamon and knead into the Nutella mixture. Place the dough in a tightly closed Tupperware bowl in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
  4. Roll out the well-chilled dough on a lightly floured work surface and cut out stars in different sizes.
  5. Bake at 180 ° C for about 10 minutes.
  6. Every oven bakes differently! You have to feel a little bit closer to the optimal baking temperature and the optimal baking time for the 1st tray. With my gas stove, 180 ° C is enough for me - with an electric stove, 200 ° C may be more advantageous.
  7. Carefully lift the baked stars from the tray with a pallet and place on a wire shelf to cool. If you like, you can coat the stars with light or dark couverture or spray fine patterns on the edges with a powdered sugar glaze. Of course, other motifs can also be cut out of this dough.
  8. Tip: If you leave out the cinnamon, these cookies don`t only taste good at Christmas time!
  9. The baking time applies per tray. The rest time applies to the raw dough! The working time for cutting out the cookies is of course different for each individual.
