Instructions

  1. Put sugar, flour, 6 egg yolks, 4 egg whites, the very soft butter, pudding powder, milk, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Now mix all the ingredients with the mixer for at least 30 minutes. (This is important, I don`t remember why).
  2. Rub the lemon completely. Beat the remaining egg whites until stiff and add to the dough together with the grated zest without interrupting the stirring.
  3. Put the dough in a large, greased Gugelhupf pan and bake in a preheated oven at 175 ° C top / bottom heat for about 55 minutes (make a stick test).
  4. After cooling, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with whipped cream.
  5. Tip: If you want, you can leave out the lemon and add dark chocolate pieces, raisins or walnuts to the batter instead of the lemon zest.
  6. As an alternative to powdered sugar, a topping can be made to cover the cake with it.
