If you’re looking for a green side dish for meat or fish, try this basic pak choi recipe. A great alternative to the usual tomato and cucumber salad. A simple tasty and healthy dish.
Wash the cabbage well, remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Cut the cabbage into 2–3 cm pieces. Put the cabbage in a bowl and cover with water, leave for 10 minutes, then discard the cabbage in a colander.
Peel the ginger root and grate. Peel the garlic and chop it. Heat a skillet with olive oil, add ginger, and after a couple of seconds add garlic.
Add cabbage to the pan and increase the heat, stir the contents regularly.
Cook for the first 30 seconds over high heat, then turn on medium heat and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Add salt, sugar, pepper, sesame oil and chicken broth or water.
Transfer the cabbage to a plate and serve immediately.
