Toast bread lightly and butter to taste. Spread the Parma ham on the toast slices.
Wash and quarter the pear and cut out the core. Cut the pear into thin wedges and spread on the toast slices. Season with pepper (preferably freshly ground).
Cut the parmesan into thin slices and spread over the toast slices.
Bake at 200 degrees (fan oven) for about 4 minutes until the parmesan melts. Then, depending on the taste and the desired browning of the cheese, place under the grill for about 1 minute.
