- Knead the flour, butter, poppy seeds, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and egg quickly into a dough and leave to rest in a cool place for approx. 1 hour.
- Then shape small balls out of the dough and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- Make a small indentation with the handle of a wooden spoon.
- Then bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes.
- Warm the currant jelly slightly and pour it into the recesses of the still hot hussar donuts.
- Let cool down well.
- Makes about 70 pieces.
