Instructions

  1. Rinse the quinoa properly in a colander and allow to drain.
  2. Bring the milk and vanilla to the boil, add the quinoa and simmer for about five minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, quarter the apple. Peel three quarters and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  4. The last quarter keeps its skin, cut into thin slices we use it as a garnish afterwards.
  5. Add the apple pieces, raisins and cinnamon to the quinoa. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the water is soaked up. If you like it sweeter at this point, you can add a little honey or maple syrup.
  6. In the meantime, roast the nuts / almonds.
  7. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the nuts or almonds. Transfer to bowls, garnish with apple slices and cinnamon.
  8. The recipe is relatively variable and can be adapted to your own taste.
  9. Instead of honey or syrup you can also use cinnamon and sugar, if you don`t like vanilla, leave them out. The nuts or almonds can be caramelized or allergy sufferers do without them.
  10. Instead of raisins, you can also use other dried fruit and if you don`t cook them but add them afterwards, bananas or strawberries also taste very good.
