Finely dice the bacon. Let the oil get hot in a pan and fry the diced bacon in it. As soon as they are nice and golden brown (just crispy), add the balsamic vinegar and stir well.
Add the bacon sauce to the radicchio salad and mix well. Season to taste with pepper and possibly a little salt.
Arrange on a platter or in a shallow bowl.
The salad goes well with grilled meat or fish.
I love to sprinkle a few pieces of walnut on top and / or - depending on the main course - add a few wedges of apple or pear next to it.
