Cut the lime into eighths and divide between two glasses. Add two teaspoons of sugar at a time and squeeze the juice out of the limes with a pestle. Now squeeze a sprig of mint per glass a little by hand so that the aroma can escape. I twist in the branches and leaves until they tear something. Add the raspberries and a few ice cubes if you like, fill up with white rum and stir so that the sugar and lime juice are distributed.
If the raspberries were still too frozen, i.e. not disintegrating by themselves, let the drink stand for a while until the raspberries thaw and crush with a pestle or a teaspoon until the drink turns red.
Serve with a thick straw.
For the alcohol-free version, replace the rum with lemonade, but then leave out the sugar.
