Instructions

  1. Clean and wash the red cabbage, quarter the head, remove the stalk. Slice or finely chop the red cabbage.
  2. Sauté diced onion, sugar and finely chopped apples in hot fat, add red cabbage and immediately pour vinegar over it so that it gets a nice color. Cook covered for 10 minutes. Pour 1/4 - 3/8 liter of water, add salt and spices.
  3. Cover and simmer for approx. 30 - 45 minutes until soft. If necessary, add hot water.
  4. Thicken with mixed flour as desired, season with red wine.
  5. Great accompaniment to roasts, pot roasts, game or poultry!
