First make the syrup. Boil the water with sugar for about 10 minutes and allow to cool.
Now stir the eggs with the powdered sugar into a frothy mass. Add yogurt and semolina. Finally add the flour, vanilla sugar and baking powder and stir to a smooth mass. Grease a large baking dish with oil and spread the semolina dough in it. Bake at 160 degrees for about 30 minutes until a nice tan has developed.
Cut the hot cake into diamonds or small squares. Now use a ladle to spread the cooled syrup on the cake while it is still hot. After the cake has completely absorbed the syrup, decorate with nuts of your choice and serve.
