Instructions

  1. Melt the lard in a large saucepan, briefly sauté the diced apple and onion. Tear apart the sauerkraut and add to the saucepan with the stock. Pour in a dash of white wine or water if necessary. Place the Kassel slices and sausages on top and gently stew everything for 1.5 hours over a low heat.
  2. Homemade mashed potatoes are served with it.
