- Wash and drain the shrimp. Cut the asparagus. Wash the mandarins briefly and let them drain.
- Mix all ingredients with the diced onion, drizzle with fresh lemon juice.
- Dressing:
- Mix the sour cream with mayonnaise, season with salt, pepper and chilli to taste.
- Mix the dressing with the ingredients and let it steep in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Miscellaneous:
- In spring I prepare the shrimp cocktail with fresh, cooked, green asparagus.
- I use dried chilli (from the mill).
- Instead of the mandarins, I occasionally use canned pineapples. Then I season the dressing with curry and a squeeze of lemon.
- We eat the shrimp cocktail as a starter with toasted white bread.
