Instructions

  1. For the dough, dissolve the yeast together with the raw cane sugar in lukewarm water. Put the remaining weighed ingredients for the dough in a kneading bowl. Add the dissolved yeast and knead everything into a smooth, soft dough that will separate from the bowl. For the right consistency, add a little more water or flour if it is too dry or too moist. I always knead the dough in the food processor for about 5 minutes. You can also use the BBA`s dough program, but then there is no walking time. Then cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.
  2. You can prepare the topping while the dough is rising. Stir together the tomato sauce *, grate the cheese and cut or prepare the additional ingredients you want, such as peppers, onions, corn, etc. However, you shouldn`t put too much on the rolls, only about 1 teaspoon topping per pizza roll, otherwise the topping will fall off while baking. The pizza rolls taste very good even without an additional topping.
  3. After the rising time, preheat the oven to 180 ° C lower and upper heat and weigh approx. 40 g pieces of dough from the dough and shape into small, approx. 13 round rolls. Place the dough pieces a little apart on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and flatten them a little.
  4. Brush each dough piece with 1 teaspoon of tomato sauce, top it if you like and distribute the cheese on the dough pieces. Bake the pizza rolls at 180 ° C for 15-20 minutes on the middle rack. Let the finished rolls cool briefly on a wire rack and serve while they are still warm. The pizza rolls also taste very good cold.
