Sieve the flour on the table and make a well in it. Add sugar, cream, butter, eggs, a little salt, baking powder and lemon juice. Mix everything together and knead into a smooth dough, add a little flour if it`s too sticky. The dough should be similar to the pasta dough. Let the dough rest covered for 1 hour (works without it, but it is better to let it rest)
Roll out thinly and cut strips 3 cm wide and 10-15 cm long with a knife or wheel. Cut each strip in the middle of the length 4 - 6 cm and pull one end through the hole.
Heat the fat and fry the Faworki / pastries on both sides until they are golden yellow. Drain on kitchen towel. Dust with icing sugar mixed with vanilla sugar while still warm.
