Boil the potatoes and then mash them. It is best to chop the onions very finely in a lightning chopper. Mix all ingredients together and use a hand mixer to form a smooth dough.
Season to taste.
Let the dough soak for about 30 minutes. Bake in the waffle iron and consume while still warm. You get about 6 waffles from the batter. I calculate two per person if there are still side dishes.
A quark dip and salad go well with this. With Hollandaise sauce, the waffles are a (calorie) dream. We mostly eat meatloaf and cauliflower with hollandaise sauce.
You can also replace part of the potatoes with carrots. Very tasty and even healthier!
