Instructions

  1. Dissolve the cane sugar in the pitu the day before.
  2. Wash, clean and quarter the strawberries. Keep stirring the cane sugar pitu mixture in between. By the time the strawberries are cleaned, the cane sugar should have dissolved quite a bit.
  3. Add the strawberry syrup and stir vigorously again. Pour over the strawberries, stir gently. If not all of the strawberries are floating in the alcohol, add a little more pitu. Place in the refrigerator until the next day.
  4. On the day of the party, when the guests come, put the ice-cold strawberry and pitu mixture on the table, put ice cubes and chilled sparkling wine - I prefer dry rosé - next to it in the champagne cooler.
  5. Now put 1 - 2 ice cubes in the glass, add 1 scoop of strawberry-pitu mixture and fill up with sparkling wine. For everyone, the mixture can be made as strong as they want and can tolerate. Some also add mineral water.
  6. Depending on how strongly the punch is mixed, it is enough for 20 - 40 guests. If something remains of the strawberry-pitu mixture, you can still drink it or freeze it for the next few days.
