Steam the potatoes for 20 minutes. Brush 2 pieces of aluminum foil with olive oil. Place 2 slices of bacon next to each other on the foil, place the potatoes on top. Then cut the potatoes into 2 thick slices, sprinkle each with salt, top with cheddar and basil and wrap with the bacon.
Now grill the potatoes for another 10-15 minutes on each side, the bacon will be crispy and the cheese will melt creamy.
Ideal as a side dish when grilling or with hearty steaks. The pre-cooked potatoes can be prepared well and later simply put on the grill.
