Wash the peppers, if they are particularly large and / or spicy, remove the seeds and cut the pods into pieces, remove only the stalks for small ones. If you add peppers, clean, core and cut into strips.
Put all other ingredients in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Add the hot peppers, bring to the boil again and cook for 3 minutes.
Remove the peppers with the slotted spoon and fill them into screw-top jars. Bring the stock to the boil again, then pour over the peppers and close the jars.
I like the peppers immediately, but after a few days they are really well drawn.
If you only have peppers available, you can tighten the marinade with a few chilli peppers!
Tastes much better than bought and is a nice souvenir.
