Puree the pumpkin flesh very finely and bring to the boil with milk, sugar and vanilla sugar. Sprinkle in the semolina, bring to the boil again and simmer at a low temperature for about 5 minutes. Now remove from the heat and stir vigorously. Add butter and approx. 1 teaspoon cinnamon and beat well.
If you like, you can also add a beaten, whisked egg in addition to cinnamon and butter.
