Finely mash the tofu with a fork. Finely dice the bell pepper and onion, grate the carrot. Knead the vegetables with tofu, egg and quark into a mass, bind with protein powder until it becomes malleable (2-3 tablespoon should be sufficient), add spices and herbs and season to taste.
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C (top / bottom heat).
Shape the dough into balls (approx. 5 cm in diameter) with wet hands, place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, press lightly with a fork and bake for 30 minutes at 180 ° C, turning once after 15 minutes.
Remarks:
This is a food combining protein or low carb recipe. If you don`t do without carbohydrates, you can of course use breadcrumbs or oat flakes instead of the protein powder.
A herb quark dip goes well with it. The tofu meatballs can be eaten warm or cold as a starter or as a main course with a side dish.
Alternatively, other combinations of vegetables and spices can be added to the dough.
Approx. 8-10 meatballs can be made from the amount of dough.
