Instructions

  1. Put the flour in a bowl and make a well in the middle. Mix half of the milk with the yeast and a little sugar to make a pre-dough. Cover the pre-dough and let rise for about half an hour.
  2. Then add the remaining ingredients and knead everything well to form a smooth dough. Let rise again covered for an hour.
  3. Then make the desired pastry from the dough, e.g., plait into a braid or put in a well-greased bundt cake tin (then let rise for another 20 minutes).
  4. Bake at approx. 190-200 degrees. A medium bundt cake or yeast plait takes about 40 minutes to bake.
  5. Actually this is a basic recipe for sweet yeast dough !!
  6. The butter is just too much for me. I only use 100g butter instead of 125g. It is also a bit too sweet for me - that`s why I add a heaping teaspoon of salt!
  7. The dough can also be used to make snails, etc. The imagination knows no limits!
