Instructions

  1. Cut the vanilla stick lengthways and halve. Peel the ginger root and cut into thin slices. Put the vanilla and ginger in a glass and pour the vinegar over it.
  2. Seal the jar. Let the vinegar flavor for about 4 weeks, shaking or swirling more often.
  3. Then strain the vinegar through filter paper, fill into a clean bottle and close it tightly.

  5. Vanilla vinegar can be used anywhere where vanilla and lemon would be required, for example in a fruit salad. But it also goes extremely well with raw carrots.
