  • 4 beef roulade (s), from the top shell
  • 4 small onion (s)
  • 4 slices bacon, smoked, mixed
  • salt and pepper
  • mustard
  • margarine
  • Sauce thickener, dark or cornstarch to thicken the sauce

Instructions

  1. Season the roulades with salt and pepper on both sides. Brush one side with mustard and top with one or two slices of smoked bacon. Peel the onions and cut into 0.5 - 1 cm thick rings and distribute them on the roulades. Leave about 3 - 5 cm space at the ends. Now roll up the roulades and fix them with roulade needles or toothpicks.
  2. Let the margarine get hot in the roaster and fry the roulades well. This is important so that the sauce gets a good taste. After the roulades have got a good color all around, take them out and remove the roasting meat with water. The brew will now get a nice color and the roulades can be put back in the pot. If necessary, add water until the roulades are only half covered. Now the roulades have to slowly simmer covered over low heat. Depending on the size, this can take up to two hours.
  3. Then thicken the sauce and, if necessary, season with salt and pepper.
