Ingredients

  • 1 apple, halved
  • 500 g duck breast fillet
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoon almond (s) (sticks)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 pack sauce powder
  • 2 tablespoon wine, red
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ marjoram
  • 1 pinch cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Core one half of the apple and cut into small cubes with the peel. Rinse the duck breast, pat dry and season with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Fry the skin side down in the oil until crispy. Turn, fry briefly and place in a baking dish. Finish cooking in the oven in around 15 minutes.
  3. Drain the duck fat from the pan. Brown the almond sticks in the rest of the roasting fat. Add the apple cubes and sauté briefly. Sprinkle with sugar and let it melt. Pour 250 ml of water, bring to the boil, stir in the sauce powder. Let simmer for 1 min. Refine the sauce with red wine, marjoram and cinnamon. Serve with sliced duck breast fillets.
  4. It goes well with red cabbage and dumplings.
