Ingredients

  • 500 g beef oulash
  • 150 grams bacon
  • 500 g onion (s)
  • 500 g bell pepper (s)
  • 400 g okra pods
  • 250 ml beef stock
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 medium bay leaves
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoon oil, neutral

Instructions

  1. Finely dice the bacon and drain it in a tablespoon of hot oil. Add the rest of the oil, fry the meat vigorously in it. Peel the onion and garlic and also dice them, add to the meat together with the sugar and fry.
  2. Wash and clean the okra pods, add to the meat and fry for approx. 3 minutes.
  3. Deglaze everything with the stock, add salt, bay leaves and cayenne pepper. Cover and simmer gently for 90 minutes.
  4. Clean, wash and dice the peppers. Cook for 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and cayenne pepper.
  5. Important: If tinned okra pods are used, please add them to the meat together with the peppers.
  6. Side dish: rice or white bread.
